What Our Clients Say

We were stuck waiting on a supplier that kept pushing our bracket delivery out by three weeks. Spline Arc took our STEP file and had 12 units in ASA delivered in under two days. Every part fit the first time. No hand fitting, no delays, no excuses. That kind of turnaround is hard to find.

Lead Mechanical Engineer

Houston Engineering Firm

I had a napkin sketch and a client demo on Friday. Sent it to Spline Arc Tuesday afternoon. Had the enclosure printed in PETG Wednesday morning. Fit all the internal components perfectly on the first try. We are moving straight to a 50 unit pilot run with them.

Product Development Manager

Electronics Manufacturing Company

Our rotary housing went obsolete and the manufacturer told us the tooling was destroyed. Downtime was costing us about two grand a day. Spline Arc reverse engineered the housing from our cracked original, printed it in nylon, and we were back in production by Thursday. Whole thing cost less than one day of downtime.

Materials We Print

PLA

PLA is an easy to print, rigid bioplastic with excellent dimensional accuracy and a smooth surface finish. Best for visual prototypes, form and fit checks, display models, and low stress applications where appearance and tolerance matter more than heat or impact resistance.

PETG

PETG combines the ease of printing of PLA with the durability of ABS. It offers excellent layer adhesion, chemical resistance, and impact strength. Ideal for jigs, fixtures, enclosures, and parts that need to withstand repeated handling.

ABS

ABS is a tough, impact resistant engineering thermoplastic with good heat tolerance and machinability. Widely used for functional prototypes, housings, and automotive interior components. It can be smoothed with acetone vapor for a polished finish.

ASA

ASA provides superior UV resistance and weatherability compared to ABS. It maintains color stability and mechanical properties under prolonged sun exposure. The material of choice for outdoor applications, agricultural equipment, and automotive exterior components.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)

TPU is a flexible, rubber like material with excellent abrasion resistance and elasticity. Shore hardness ranges from 85A to 95A. Used for seals, gaskets, flexible mounts, impact absorbing components, and ergonomic grips.

TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer)

TPE is a soft, flexible filament with rubber like elasticity and excellent grip and damping properties. Used for overmold style grips, soft touch surfaces, vibration dampers, and flexible hinges where a softer, more compliant feel is required.

PC (Polycarbonate)

PC offers exceptional impact resistance and heat deflection up to 145C. It is the strongest standard FDM material available. Used for functional parts that must endure high loads, temperatures, or safety critical applications.

Nylon (PA)

Nylon delivers outstanding wear resistance, low friction, and high fatigue resistance. It absorbs moisture which increases flexibility and impact resistance. Perfect for gears, bearings, living hinges, and parts subject to repetitive motion.

PET

PET offers high stiffness, dimensional stability, and excellent chemical and moisture resistance. It prints with low warping and holds tight tolerances, making it well suited for electrical enclosures, housings, and parts exposed to solvents or humidity.

PPS

PPS is a high performance semi crystalline thermoplastic with outstanding chemical, thermal, and flame resistance. It maintains mechanical properties up to 200C and is used for under hood automotive, electrical, and industrial components exposed to harsh environments.

Why FDM for Small Batch Production

No Tooling Costs

Injection molding requires steel or aluminum tooling that costs $10,000 to $100,000 and takes 8 to 16 weeks to machine. FDM 3D printing requires zero tooling. Your first part costs the same as your hundredth. This makes FDM ideal for bridge production, market testing, and low volume runs where tooling economics do not work.

Design Freedom

FDM printing builds parts layer by layer, enabling complex geometries that would be impossible or extremely expensive to machine or mold. Internal lattice structures, conformal cooling channels, and organic shapes are all possible without additional cost.

Rapid Iteration

Design changes require only a file update, not a tooling modification. You can print a design revision today and have parts in hand tomorrow. This accelerates product development cycles from weeks to days.

Domestic Manufacturing

All production happens at our Houston facility. No overseas shipping delays. No customs holds. No minimum order quantities imposed by offshore suppliers. Your parts ship from Texas to anywhere in the US within 1 to 3 business days.
